We are a Covid Safe Registered Business. We continue to encourage safe interactions with the drum community. 

  • Masks are now optional
  • Staff may choose to wear a mask
  • Hand Sanitizer Provided
  • We encourage all students to buy and use their own drum, but we do have sanitised drums available for use
  • All high touch areas are cleaned after every class
  • Hire drums cleaned after every class
  • Anti-bacterial spray used to hygienically clean Drum Studio after every class
  • All students are requested to stay home if you are mildly sick or have any flu-like symptoms
  • Each Drumming Course is accompanied by online training material to help you stay up-to-date on training information if you miss a class.

Adult Class Ages?

14 years and upward. We encourage a parent or guardian to drum with any children under 16, but please contact us to discuss. We are also open to the possibility of children younger than 14 attending in special circumstances. Again, please contact us if you would like to discuss bring your child to class.


Is there concession?

Yes. Please see the current Terms and Conditions of purchase in the online djembe class registration page.

*SENIORS CARDS are NOT accepted.

Proof of concession

Concession cards of any kind: Student Card, Disability Card, Seniors Card, Health Care Card…if you think you are concession, please register as concession and bring your ID and proof with you to the first class.


Can I hire a drum and how much is it?

Yes. Please see the drop down menu on the registration page.


Can I drop in to a class anytime?

No, complete term registration is required. We provide a money-back Guarantee that IF you are not satisfied after your first class you can choose to have a refund of the remaining classes, minus a small administration fee. See more below.

What type of drums will we use?

West African Djembe drums. We also have Dun Dun (bass drums). For more info click here.


How many people are in a class?

We have between 15 and 30 people in most adult classes

I’d like to buy a drum instead of hiring a drum, do you sell them?

We sell top quality, hand crafted, genuine Africa drums. There are many sizes and types to choose from. Please email us to discuss your budget, needs and get a quote. info@earthenrhythms.org


Can I get a refund for missed classes?

We guarantee that you will love our drumming course. If you don’t, please let us know after your FIRST class and we’ll refund you the remaining amount. After this, any classes missed cannot be refunded.


Do you take cash?

We don’t take cash on the night and all payments and registrations are upfront through our website. Please see this link for class choices.


Do you hire out drums only for events?

No. Our drums come with our professionally trained & experienced facilitators as part of a package. Drums are not hired on their own.


Is the Hamilton North Drum Studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We our Studio can be easily accessed by wheelchairs and other aide devices.


When does the next Drum Term start?

Earthen Rhythms follows the NSW school term. We offer four time 9 week terms per year for absolute beginners to intermediate levels.
